Comprehensive Wastewater Management
Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority owns and operates a complete wastewater collection and treatment system serving over 4,700 customers in Douglass Township, Colebrookdale Township, and surrounding areas. Our system ensures that wastewater from homes and businesses is safely collected, treated to environmental standards, and returned to the environment, protecting both public health and our local waterways.
Our Services

Wastewater Collection
We maintain approximately 90 miles of underground sewer collection lines that transport wastewater from your property to our treatment facilities. Our system includes nine pumping stations that help move wastewater efficiently through the network.
What This Means for You:
When you flush a toilet or use a sink, wastewater travels through your property's lateral line to BMMA's collection system, where it's transported to one of our treatment plants.

Wastewater Treatment
BMMA maintains and operates two wastewater treatment plants:
Morysville Treatment Plant
West Swamp Creek Treatment Plant (upgraded in 2016)
These facilities use proven treatment processes to remove contaminants and ensure treated water meets all state and federal environmental standards before discharge.

Borough of Bechtelsville
BMMA acquired and has operated the Borough of Bechtelsville collection system since 1988.
Sassamansville Community
A pumping station and collection lines were constructed in 2007 to provide sewer service to the Sassamansville area.
